A young pianist of prodigious technique and striking stage presence. Washington Post
Natasha Paremski became the unofficial Gilmore Festival empress of the keyboard Monday afternoon with her dazzling solo recital. Her coronation, sealed by vociferous acclaim from the standing overflow audience at Stetson Chapel, followed a demanding, balanced program flawlessly performed... Paremski displayed a fuller range of abilities in a lengthy program extending from Beethoven's era to today. Remarkably, she made compelling cases for all five very differing works... Paremski exhibited extraordinarily clean articulation and crisp style, along with heavenly pianissimos. Creamy runs and stately chord progressions revealed a player already a consummate artist. Kalamazoo Gazette
Paremski gave a commanding, sometimes electrifying performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Grand Rapids Symphony on Sunday afternoon as part of the Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival. The famous opening passage, with its rising series of thunderous chords, announced Paremski had arrived as a recently minted Gilmore Young Artist. What came next kept getting better. Paremski is just 19 years old, but she played with polish and skill and, perhaps most importantly, with authority, holding her own in the performance, led by music director David Lockington, that ended with an immediate standing ovation... So, you think you've heard the Tchaik One, eh? Well, think again... Make room for Natasha Paremski. She may be all of 18 and cute as a button, but she is a formidable artist. She did much more than play all 6 zillion notes before an ecstatic Colorado Symphony audience on Friday. She personalized the Tchaikovsky, making it sound like music, instead of the mindless percussion extravaganza many pianists seem to favor. With an attentive Jeffrey Kahane on the podium, Paremski displayed a remarkable dynamic range, effortlessly shifting from gentle pianissimo to explosive fortissimo in a heartbeat - never losing the music's melodic intent or its inner pulse. No doubt the final work - Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat minor, Op. 23, left the biggest impression, because of a thrilling performance by Natasha Paremski... The Russian-born pianist displayed extraordinary technical control from start to finish, handling the trickiest passages with a self-assurance and unflappability that belied her age. She possesses the power this work demands in its grand moments, along with well-developed musicality and good dynamic control. Denver Post
To have come so far at 18 is a formidable achievement. All the ingredients of fine pianism are there, in the disciplined technique, the interesting program choices and the keyboard firepower that seemed to set all 88 keys afire... A warm ovation brought the young pianist back for several Chopin and Rachmaninoff encores, and the listeners-- charmed by her virtuosity and her lovely stage presence -- made their appreciation very clear. Seattle Times
Appearances can be deceiving...the slight 17-year-old with a long, blond ponytail seemed light years away from the calibre of veteran soloists Colorado Symphony Orchestra audiences have come to expect. But such perception soon gave way to astonishment as the Russian pianist nailed one technically challenging passage after another in a polished performance of Anton Rubinstein's Piano Concerto No. 4...Her musical touch reached deeply into the key bed for a warm, rounded sound that never turned harsh, even in the more vigourous, fortissimo sections. Denver Post
Kalamazoo is accustomed to hearing top-notch piano players, thanks to the Gilmore Keyboard Festival and the fine academic institutions here. But when an extraordinary virtuoso performance occurs, people still sit up and listen. Such was the case Sunday evening when Natasha Paremski, just 18 years old this month, closed the Gilmore Rising Stars Recital Series... An overflow audience sat in unearthly silence as she drew on rock-solid technique and mature musical intelligence to methodically and superbly perform extremely demanding works. Kalamazoo Gazette
...her technique is finished and fearless, her concept of the music is mature beyond her years and her artistic instincts are passionate. Metro:Silicon Valley's Weekly Newspaper
